With Ridley Scott into space

Whole thirty years after such seminal works such as Blade Runner and Alien Ridley Scott returns to the genre back to Prometheus, which made him famous: science fiction. It's about time.
The long-awaited film is indeed in the Alien universe, but tells a new story - the old heroine Ripley is nowhere to be seen. Instead, the new faces Briton sends into space to explore nothing less than the origins of man. The researcher Elizabeth Shaw discovered cave paintings on the same old sky coordinates and therefore breaks - funded by the ominous Weyland Corporation - with a team to answer the ultimate questions of humanity. What makes us human? Who made us? Why were we created?
The raising of such essential topics of course, creates a certain mood: everything seems possible. On the one hand, creates an incredible curiosity to know what is waiting for the research team. On the other hand, it is also clear that it will not only encounter the well-Minded. This alone is worth the trip visually. The ship, the Prometheus is great design, futuristic reminiszent peculiar to the Nostromo from Alien, yet. In a temple of our potential creators dark, disturbing images are contrasted with bright yellow helmets of the crew and cutting red scanning devices. There is simply no adjustment in Prometheus that does not look fantastic. Even the 3D effect is used perhaps for the first time since Avatar perfect sense. You feel as if you were there, and be amazed with the figures on their discoveries.
On board the Prometheus Sir Ridley has gathered an illustrious group of unspent, young actors. Naomi Rapace, Stig Larsson known from Millennium trilogy manages to make the leap to leading lady of an expensive Hollywood production with ease. It combines vulnerability and strength, and thus resembles Sigourney Weaver's Ripley is not only visually. Charlize Theron shines as a cold, callous career woman and Idris Elba as Captain of the ship brings an incredible coolness and calmness. However, if you once again steals the show, is the incredible Michael Fassbender. The German-Irishman has the same people as robots are clearly the most complex role of David, whose motivation is you never quite sure. Fassbender plays him sympathetic and yet somehow inscrutable, sometimes nasty cynical, sometimes almost pathetic. Even the man-built Android raises the question as to why it was created.
Unfortunately, it still does not focus solely on this group more interesting lives. The crew is larger, which is why some of the no-name actors quickly realize that they were written only as cannon fodder in the script. They behave sometimes frustratingly illogical. In addition, the authors fail to do it, the development of some characters to the end. Without giving away too much: Prometheus ends quite openly. You may want to keep open the door to a successor, the movie itself, unfortunately, hurts a little. Many of the questions are not answered, some fate not led to satisfactory end.
Only one movie can really find the meaning of life? Of course not. For this we are talking on the way to this realization really good. Constant, one wonders what lurks next to one, and experienced breathless, nerve-wrecking tension. Ridley Scott shows that he is still a masterpiece in its original area. Prometheus - especially in the screenplay - his weaknesses. But that can not prevent it completely submerged for two hours in spite of all the rest in their hostility in this world. After you leave very reluctantly and visibly affected the cinema and unfortunately have to increase again in the Munich underground boring.
