Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam Twenty (2011):
That we are going to say do not know already. "Pearl Jam Twenty" is a documentary directed by Cameron Crowe ("Almost Famous", "Elizabethtown"), which collects, in a more or less sharp, the story of that group began to make history with "Ten", his album debut.
Foo Fighters - Back And Forth (2011):
Surprisingly "Back And Forth" is also fragmented version on YouTube. The documentary we liked, 2011 (reviewed here) explores, in detail, in the most relevant of the extensive history of the band Dave Grohl. If you are fans of the Foos do not miss this great documentary.
Joe Strummer - The Future Is Unwritten (2007):
Julien Temple documentary directed in 2007 that served as a tribute to one of the reference figures of the punk scene: Joe Strummer. Considered by many to be one of the best documentaries of the story, "The Future Is Unwritten" shows the large footprint left by the leader of The Clash since I began to charm the world in 1977.
Metallica - Some Kind Of Monster (2004):
We have also found the video network of Google "Some Kind Of Monster", the controversial (at the same time funny) documentary that shows the real problems that existed in his day among the members of Metallica. The material in the same period was recorded by the band recorded "St. Anger" album probably the most criticized of all the discography of the band of James Hetfield.
Michel Petrucciani:
Small but interesting production that examines the figure of Pettruciani Michel, a French pianist who, despite suffering from dwarfism, became one of the best in the international arena. The film does not reach the projected height of the In-Edit 2011 but even so this production is used to know a little about the history of the beloved artist Gallo.

Keane back in May with Strangeland
Keane will return this year with a new album entitled Strangeland and which goes on sale on May 7. After a small shift in his earlier work, Perfect Symmetry (2008), Britain seems set to recover the formula of success of his first and acclaimed albums, Hopes and Fears (2004) and Under the Iron Sea (2006). This will be the band's first album as a quartet, following the signing of Jesse Quin, who had participated in the previous album and the tour of Tom Chaplin, in February 2011. Apparently, Keane began recording the album after the end of Mt Desolation Tour, tour promotion of alternative project of Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin himself.
So we have to wait a few weeks to see the full this expected return. For now, we leave you with a promotional trailer of it.

Incubus live at the Tonhalle (new date of November)
Incubus will perform 2011Ursprünglich had the alternative rock band Incubus in November 2011 at Zenith in Munich. This concert, however, had to be canceled at very short notice. Now there are reported to the Second Date: 07/12/2012 On it goes for the quintet from Calabasas, California in the concert hall. Included in the package Incubus have their current course, a total sixth studio album, "If Not Now, When?". Frontman Brandon Boyd describes this album as follows: "a pinch of humor Träufele and a pinch of psychedelia into the kettle and let it simmer for a few months in the recording studio in front of him."
"If Not Now, When?" Is much less aggressive and more rock than you would otherwise expect from Incubus. In her 20-year history, the band has developed quite strongly. In the 90's was their style of music or an innovative mix of funk metal and crossover, but that was distantly related to the sound of bands like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Primus, but had yet fully own characteristic features. Beginning of the millennium, to be exact, 2001, published by Incubus "Morning View" and her fourth album by far psychedelischstes. Not quite as psychedelic, but it is relatively quiet and sometimes even romantic sounds like the newest book "If Not Now, When?". "Aggressiveness and faster rock just do not fit into our lives," said Incubus.
Incubus in Germany are no longer a secret anymore. "If Not Now, When?" Made it to number 5 in the German album charts. Only their album "A Crow Left of the Murder ..." from the year 2004, in this country secure a higher position in the charts, namely 2nd place
That commercial success is not the main motivation behind the music of Incubus, know their fans have always appreciated. Yes, you may be away perhaps become quieter over the years, but the joy has come up with Incubus Experimentiertfreudigkeit never take.
Brandon Boyd from IncubusDas you hear on the album, especially on the song "In The Company Of Wolves". This 7 1/2 minutes in length track is divided into two parts completely. Siniert is still in the first half in relaxed and psychedelic-tinged sounds about growing up, one is suddenly torn in the middle of the song from the previously created, soothing atmosphere. The second half sounds like orientation - like waking up from a loss of consciousness. The perception of time begins to liquefy and eventually expands to almost infinity of what the line "It was the longest night of my life," underlines ("It was the longest night of my life"). In the last two minutes you will be in shades of pink Floyd'esquen - accompanied by piano sounds downright spooky - sent on a trip that sounds like the losing of oneself in space and time.
At the upcoming gig in Munich are easily digestible songs but also with the luggage, as well as the hit "Drive", "Love Hurts" and of course the new single "Promises Promises".

So, today I want you again imagine a band from Germany, Holger for the Shoegazr Blog Sonic Youth or My Bloody Valentine comparisons bring into play: This Love Is Deadly from Berlin. And really, their current single, "Misery To You" from the debut album has just been released on melodic elements like crashing that are fun and have the cloudy Einhautsgrau outside the windows in their place.

Willy Astor with a new program at the Circus Krone
Willy Astor is in the Circus Krone in Munich is presenting its new program vorAm 23.04.2012 Munich comedian Willy Astor his new stage program "Good Nachlachende substances - Oral Update on the Apostles" in the Circus Krone in Munich. Opera Joseph Sweet at the State Theatre on Gärtnerplatz
The opera Joseph Süss celebrates premiere in March at the opera premiered in 1999 GärtnerplatztheaterDas work on the historic judicial murder of Joseph Suss Oppenheimer is the first time in Munich on the stage. Seven equally demanding solo parts featuring the musical challenges of the work. The role of Joseph takes over Sweet Gary Martin. In the role of Duke Stefan's experience Sevenich.
The plot: A long time is Joseph Sweet as a Jewish "court factor" guarantor of the courtly splendor of the Württemberg Duke Karl Alexander - and also the beneficiary of his insatiability. The force field of power, financial policy, religious rivalry and Eros on the one hand and his love for his daughter, Naomi, and Jewish traditions on the other hand is sweet victim of a conspiracy, for allegedly instigating a coup and finally betrayed. After the failed coup of the Duke suffered a stroke. Sweet as a scapegoat is thrown into prison and sentenced to death by hanging. This is the story of the Opera. How sweet harass a nightmare in his prison cell, the voices of the living and the dead. They condemn him, calling up memories of his successes or want to free him from his present position. Joseph, however, fresh beats all the ways to escape from.

Screen Vinyl Image with their second album
That was really a nice surprise when a few days ago I e-mail from Jake of the band Screen Vinyl Image was. There is a new album called SVI "Strange Behavior", because if I would not even throw an ear on it? I wanted to! Because of the sometimes reminiscent of The Jesus & Mary Chain Noise / Electro / herb / Shoegazesound the band from Washington, I had already been made earlier, that my expectations were very high.
And they will not be disappointed in "Strange Behavior" - like the opener "We do not belong" is an absolute hit, driving, pulsating, atmospheric, threatening, sprinkling a little wave, a pinch of motor-beat, just great. Not all the songs on the album in this style, some are a bit bulky and not (yet) so noisy, but overall I would recommend any friend of distorted guitars, the next week, appearing CD highly enough.
And they will not be disappointed in "Strange Behavior" - like the opener "We do not belong" is an absolute hit, driving, pulsating, atmospheric, threatening, sprinkling a little wave, a pinch of motor-beat, just great. My sad Captains
Attentive readers of my years in the charts last week, have wondered about the fact that a band at # 13, is that I have mentioned here on the blog before - My Sad Captains with their great album "Fight less win more". This omission same time I want to dispel the new year - because the quartet from London deserves attention more clearly.
Who is to tend to calm music with bubbling undertones, who, then, shall we say, Death Cab for Cutie are too boring, the place in the MSC songs that the listener warm embrace and guide you through the day.

Exhibition: Thomas Ruff Haus der Kunst in Munich
The Haus der Kunst in Munich presents an exhibition of Thomas RuffVom 17/02/2012 to 05/20/2012, the House of Art in Munich, an exhibition on the works of photographer Thomas Ruff. In this first comprehensive presentation for over ten years, shows the work of Thomas Ruff groups that have made him internationally known. In chronological sequence takes place after the exhibition Ruff's artistic development from his first 1979 series begun in German 'interior' of the 'portraits',' houses' and 'star' of the work groups of the 90s, like 'newspaper photos',' Nights ',' poster 'and' other portraits'. His latest series 'ma.rs' translates topographic images of Mars in images of fragile beauty.
First part of the presentation material for the reception of the works and to the sources that inspired Thomas Ruff. The exhibition opens access to Ruff's conceptual survey of the various uses and forms of photography. On 03/13/2012, Thomas Ruff is from 19 to clock artist talk in the house ready for the art.
Thomas Ruff was born in 1958 in Zell am Harmersbach in the Black Forest and studied with Bernd Becher at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.

The range of 'Interiors' was still his student days. Most images of this group of works are included in the Black Forest, in the homes of relatives and parents of former classmates. Thomas Ruff's attitude towards these areas is ambivalent: they are for him "the epitome of philistinism," which he had escaped, and give him the same feeling of belonging or standing for a sentimental view of the surroundings of his childhood. In the 'interior' space details are given an objective and distanced, whereby condensed essence like the framing of the character and mood of each room. Early in the 80 years beginning renovations of apartments completed the series.
The photos of the latest series 'ma.rs' originally came from the NASA website and were made by the camera in a satellite, in an angle perpendicular to the surface of Mars. By subsequent coloring and adjusting the angle of a human "pseudo-oblique view," they become a virtual anticipation of a visit to Mars.

Thomas Ruff Photography recently called "the biggest shift in consciousness machine, which acts on the people", and the presence and quality of photographs in newspapers, magazines, film and television have changed significantly through technological thrust of the last decades, and the ability to have risen steadily manipulate.
In over three decades, Thomas Ruff has set itself apart with this development and its own operation continuously varied. He has made the step from analog to digital video production, and explored in particular the mixing of both in their different ways. From the beginning, his approach was conceptually: He studied genres, techniques and design worlds with exemplary character, and each series brings forth next to their subject and their own technique. Connects to the sum of the over three decades, extending work of Thomas Ruff and Sehlust analysis in a unique form.

Celtic Woman live at the Olympiahalle in Munich
On 06/01/2012 at the Olympiahalle in Munich: Irish Celtic music sensation Celtic Woman WomanDie we make the 6.1.2012 as part of its European tour in support of the Olympic Hall in Munich. Recently, we have already presented an interview with singer Lisa Lambe and violinist Máiréad Nesbitt, in which the two talk in detail about the new program. Apart from the youngest member of the Women's formation, Chloë Agnew, will be on the upcoming U.S. tour and the subsequent tour of Europe and the Irish musical star Susan McFadden on stage. McFadden replaced founding member Lisa Kelly, who is expecting her fourth child and due to her maternity leave can not be there. McFadden recently celebrated huge successes in the main roles of the two musical "Grease" and "Legally Blonde" on London's West End. Hipsters take note: Put on the horn-rimmed glasses, slipping into the tight pants, hanging around the slogan Tote Bag: The American cultural critic, theorist and author Mark hipster gripping reading on 8 February in the workroom of the Munich Studio Theater.

Mark Cross has described the Occupy-motion in an interview with the Berliner Zeitung, sometimes as a corollary of the hipsters. An interesting debate is so sure.

David Lynch's musical magic
David Lynch deploys music in his movies to devastating effect. Ahead of a retrospective, we pick his best statements in sound
David Lynch once said: "Sound is almost like a drug. It's so pure that when it goes in your ears, it instantly does something to you." With the exception of perhaps Quentin Tarantino, no one has repurposed music with greater effect in film than Lynch. And so, in light of his forthcoming BFI retrospective, here are some of his greatest musical moments.
Mulholland Drive – Llorando
The open-ended narrative of Mulholland Drive, coupled with Lynch's surreal technique, lends this movie a hallucinatory quality. It makes this scene even more jarring because Lynch's use of music is so beautiful. At a pivotal point in the film, lovers Betty and Rita visit the ghostly, near-empty Club Silencio. A performer announces "No hay bander": there is no band. And yet we hear one. Then Rebekah Del Rio performs her Spanish, a cappella version of Roy Orbison's Crying (renamed Llorando). I have watched this film more times than I'd ever care to admit but Del Rio's voice, a cloudburst of emotion, always knocks the wind out of me. Any further description of what happens would spoil it for those (shame on you) who haven't seen it.
Blue Velvet – In Dreams
A suffocating mystery set in the murky underbelly of small-town America, Blue Velvet won Lynch his second best director Academy Award nomination. It also resurrected Dennis Hopper's career with his role as gas-huffing psychopath Frank Booth. Teenage bloodhound Jeffrey Beaumont (Kyle McLaughlin) gets in way over his head when Frank takes him for a wild joyride to the house of Ben, his drug dealer. There, Ben lip-syncs Orbison's gorgeous croon-fest In Dreams into an electric light, sending Frank into emotional meltdown. It prompts one of the most petrifying scenes in the film …
Twin Peaks theme
Composed by long-term Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti, the song Falling became the theme for the TV series. It was a sensation, and won a Grammy for best pop instrumental. Playing through the opening credits, even without Julee Cruise's airy vocals (a huge influence on a generation of shoegazey female singers) the music, despite its simplicity, is eerily provocative and ever-so-slightly foreboding.
Blue Velvet – Dorothy's club performance
Dorothy Vallens's (Isabella Rossellini) nightclub performance of Bobby Vinton's hazy, lusty Blue Velvet is one of the film's most famous scenes. Heavy-eyed, with her buttermilk skin and plum-like mouth, Dorothy pulls the captivated Jeffrey Beaumont irretrievably into her dark world, with Laura Dern sitting dorkily beside him. Some geeky trivia: Lynch initially enlisted Badalamenti's help as a vocal coach for Rossellini in Blue Velvet, and he plays piano in this scene.
Lost Highway – This Magic Moment
This is an electrifying scene. We watch as mechanic Pete Dayton (Balthazar Getty) first sets eyes on Alice Wakefield (Patricia Arquette) as she gets out of one car and into another. It's simple enough. But in slowing the film right down and using a delicate strobe light on Arquette's face, the atmosphere in that garage, carried expertly by Lou Reed's languorous vocals and that pretty guitar riff, is clotted with lust. Getty's reaction is brilliant: his eyes do all the stuttering his lips would if he could talk.
Wild At Heart – Love Fool
Sailor (Nicholas Cage) and Lula (Laura Dern) are lovers on the run in Wild at Heart, which is a semi-homage to Elvis's acting career, without actually saying his name once in the film. Cage breaks into song in two scenes and his version of Love Fool, crooned sweatily at Lula after he's beaten the shit out of a kid in a bar fight, is the best. Even if he does sound – as a friend who I watched this with once said – like he's got a piece of dim sum stuck in his throat.
Eraserhead – In Heaven
A charming woman with tumor cheeks (The Lady in the Radiator) appears in visions, usually singing, to Henry Spencer (Jack Nance). This is the most famous of those performances and the first big Lynchian musical moment. You need a thesis to dissect the scene, but it's basically a woman who lives in a dank radiator singing creepily about how "in heaven, everything is fine". Pixies famously covered the song, with Frank Black's guttural screaming adding more menace.
